### **Objective**

This video outlines the steps to access the events plugin and add a new event to the events calendar on the Canada Planners website.

### Key Steps

- Navigate to your website's WordPress Admin dashboard.
- Click on the Events plugin located on the left-hand side.

- Click on the Events link in the drop-down menu to view all active and past events.

- Click on 'Add New Event' to start creating a new event.

- Provide a title for the event.
- In the paragraph box, add an image (e.g., event poster).
- Adjust the image as needed (center it, resize, etc.).

- Below the image, add any additional content related to the event.

- Select the date and time for the event (e.g., set for the upcoming Saturday).
- Specify if it is an all-day event.

- Check the 'show map' and 'show map link' boxes to include a Google map of the event location.

- If applicable, fill in the organizer's information (e.g., brand partner) and link to their website.

- Add a link for ticketing or additional event information (e.g., Eventbrite link).

- Specify if there is a cost associated with the event (e.g., $20 tickets before the event).

- Optionally, set a category for the event.

- Choose a featured image that will appear on the event card.

- Click 'Publish' to save the event.

- Click on the permalink or URL to view the new event card.

- Check the event card for all details, including images and information.

- View the events page at '/events' to see the event in list, month, or day view.
